Do’s and Don'ts

•Ladakh’s high altitude (over 10,000 feet) can cause Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). Rest for at least 24-48 hours upon arrival and stay hydrated.
•Avoid strenuous activities during the first couple of days.
•Drink plenty of water, herbal tea, or ORS solutions.
•Eat small, frequent meals to maintain energy. Avoid overeating.
Respect Local Culture and Traditions:
•Remove your shoes before entering monasteries or homes.
•Ask for permission before taking photographs, especially of monks, locals, or religious ceremonies.
Be Eco-Friendly:
•Carry reusable water bottles, avoid plastic, and dispose of waste responsibly.
•Use eco-friendly toiletries and avoid polluting lakes, rivers, and natural surroundings.
•Follow the principle of "Leave No Trace".
Don’t Ignore Altitude Sickness:
•Avoid alcohol, smoking, and excessive physical activity when acclimatising. AMS can be serious; seek medical help if symptoms worsen.
