The Assam & Meghalaya Tour by Ajay Modi Travels offers a refreshing journey through the scenic landscapes of North East India, covering Guwahati, Kaziranga, Shillong, Cherrapunji, and Mawlynnong. Itinerary :
Day 1: ARRIVAL GUWAHATI – KAMAKHYA TEMPLE
After arrival at Guwahati airport, proceed to the hotel. Check-in at the hotel and according to the convenience of time, visit the world famous Kamakhya Shaktipeeth temple of Guwahati by the company's vehicle and return to the hotel, rest after dinner in the evening. For VIP Darshan in Kamakhya Temple, the online booking slot opens 7 days before the date of Darshan. And as soon as it opens, the tourists will have to register themselves on www.maakamakhya.org, the charge of which is Rs. 501/- per person, which will take about 3 to 4 hours, while for free Darshan it takes about 6 to 8 hours. You will get all the official latest updates about the temple from the above website. Kamakhya Temple closes at 5:00 PM. If due to any circumstances, if darshan cannot be done in the sanctum sanctorum of Kamakhya Temple, then you can circumambulate the temple with faith and have an emotional Darshan, but our company will not have any responsibility or arrangement regarding darshan in the temple.
Day 2: GUWAHATI – UMANANDA TEMPLE – SHILLONG
Special instructions for days 2-3 and 4: Due to road widening work being carried out on the entire route around Shillong, there is heavy traffic jam and since it gets dark early at 4 pm, tourists have to complete the sightseeing quickly, otherwise the company will not be responsible for any places being closed or missed. After breakfast in the morning, check out your luggage and leave by boat for the darshan of Bholenath at Umananda Temple in Guwahati. After the darshan, return to the hotel for lunch. Immediately after lunch, leave Guwahati for Shillong. On the way, visit Umiam Lake 4 hours before evening and check-in at the hotel in Shillong.
Day 3: SHILLONG – MAWLYNNONG – DAWKI – SHILLONG
For today, read again the special instructions of Day-2 without fail: After tea and breakfast, leave Shillong for Dauki Village at 7:30 am, on the way, after visiting the Root Bridge, visit Mawlynnong Village, known as the cleanest village in Asia, go boating in the Umgot River near Dauki Village (at your own expense and at your own discretion), then visit the nearby India-Bangladesh Tamabil Border and return to Shillong. (All tourists should leave the hotel at 7:30 am without fail.)
Day 4: SHILLONG – CHERRAPUNJI (SOHRA) – SHILLONG
For today, read carefully the special instructions for Day-2 : After tea and breakfast, leave Shillong for Cherrapunji (Sohra) at 7:30 am. On the way, visit Elephant Water Fall, Maudok View Point, Nohkalikai Water Falls, Mawsmai Cave, Seven Sister (Nohsangithyang) Water Fall, visit Eco Park and return to Shillong. (All tourists must leave the hotel at 7:30 am.)
Day 5: SHILLONG – KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK
After tea and breakfast, depart from Shillong for Kaziranga National Park at 7:30 AM. In the evening, check-in and rest at the hotel in Kaziranga.
Day 6: KAZIRANGA SAFARI & CULTURAL EXPERIENCE
For the optional elephant ride package in Kaziranga National Park, only advance booked tourists will have to leave at 4 am and then after tea and breakfast at 10 am, all tourists will visit the Orchid Park, where they will get information about different orchid plantations and enjoy an Assamese cultural program (Bihu dance), visit the tea garden and tea outlet and return for lunch. Immediately after lunch, enjoy a wonderful 2-hour jeep safari in Kaziranga National Park, where you can see animals like elephants, deer, rhinoceros and wild buffalo in their natural environment and return to the hotel.
Day 7: KAZIRANGA – GUWAHATI DROP
After tea and breakfast, the tour ends with a drop-off at Kaziranga National Park at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station at 7:00 AM

- Air/Train Fare
- Any extra expense such as route change, Airline change, Date change, Accommodation facilities, etc incurred due to the unforeseen, unavoidable forced majeure circumstances during the tour
- Porterage (coolie charges), laundry, telephone charges, shopping, wines & alcoholic beverages, mineral water, items of personal nature and food or drink which is not part of a set group menu
- Any extra cost incurred on behalf of an individual due to illness, accident, hospitalization, or any personal emergency
- Any services or activity charges other than those included in the group tour itinerary
- Anything that is not included in Inclusion
Cancellation Policy :
- Cancellation charge will be accept from the booking dates
- Before 30 days – communication charges of Rs. 2000/- per person.
- 30 -15 Days prior to departure 25% on total package cost.
- 14 -07 Days prior to departure 50% on total package cost.
- 7- 03 Days prior to departure 75% on total package cost.
- With in 03 Days/No show Full amount / non refundable.
- This is our cancellation rules but we will give our best possible effort to minimize the cancellation charges.
